Cross examining is fuuuunnnn

My friend's a police officer (astonishing - lawyers and police officers normally hate each other).

He wants to go up the ranks, so he wants my help coaching him how to handle being cross examined.



Well, that was fun. Can someone bring me another policeman? I think I've broken this one.

I've met a couple of good cops, but most annoy me - they become very jaded, very cynical and too fond of power. Lawyers and police never see eye to eye because we're always opposition. They see us as trying to help guilty people go. We see them making the assumption that they're guilty and fudging things far too often.

Hope you don't mind, I hunted you down from customers_suck. This post made me laugh. I'm studying cross in my Trial Practice seminar, and a lot of our practices involve questioning the police. Our professor has said that police hate being questioned.
