Continuiong with my quest to tie up all the plot lines and then sticking to one arc at a time, I now move onto the faery boys.

I think this is the most frustrating of them, because they don't do anything. I can write pages and pages of thoughts and feelings and still not actually have any action or plot enhancement to show for it. *thwaps faeries*

Sitharensor fought the urge to call his magic, to summon light into this pit. Even his Sidhe eyes could not pierce the murk. His breathing started to speed up, coming in short shallow breaths, seemingly beyond his control. He would not let Ilatheril believe he was afraid of the dark. He would not!

There’s something in here, Sith.

Sitharensor gritted his teeth and fought the urge to start in surprise. A grand effort eclipsed only by that needed to desperately reign in his magic before it seared the Unseelie to ash. By all the gods and the Eternal Fire, he would NOT succumb to cowardice.

You ok, Sith? Ilatheril's mental voice was heavy with worry... You’re not going to freak on me are you?

Sitharensor cringed, part of him railed at Ilatheril’s political ineptness that he would openly draw attention to his fear. A small part, a part far eclipsed by his own shame. He had pledged to restore the Seelie to glory and he could not even face one lesser fae in the dark...

Sith?

Light flared. The sudden twin glows of Sitharensor’s eyes were drowned out by the nimbus of almost painful light that surrounded his body. His voice echoed in the room, choral with the sound of a hundred invisible backers chanting together...

“DEATH BEFORE DISHONOUR!”

Sitharensor pulled himself up, pride stiffening his spine and adding fire back to his heart. The fear may be able to consume him, but it had generations of Eternal Fire’s honour to overcome. The Seelie laws would not be so blatantly broken, not while he still lived. He raised his head, buoyed, and shamed, by beliefs hardened to law within his heart - then the shadow hit him.
