LJ crossposting thing

You’ve probably seen this before me, especially since I am failing at keeping up with anything at the moment and wouldn’t have spotted this if I had not been poked.

However, in case you haven’t – LJ have apparently introduced a feature that lets you crosspost your entries/comments onto twitter and facebook as well. for me this will be relatively convenient because I’d probably crosspost a lot more if I could be bothered/remembered/etc.

The issue here is that someone could also crosspost their comments on a friends-locked/filtered items. I don’t think that said crossposting will link to the hidden original, but the original’s contents, obviously, could be inferred from the comment. This can be done without the consent or knowledge of the author of the filtered/locked post by commenters. Not ideal, tbh.

Personally, very little of my journal is filtered except for my secret instructions to the Illuminati who will one day rise up and conquer the world. And I don’t think they’d crosspost. If, however, you do find yourself seeing a post of mine that is filtered/hidden/locked/guarded by angry were-moles then please do not spread it or crosspost comments of it.

The rest I don’t mind if you crosspost, link or even copy & paste so long as it’s linked and attributed.

Now I return to my work pile and my slow drifting back into the world of good sense in the face of vicious opposition. In fact, no. I’m going to bed. Yes yes I am. I am tired and I am going to sleep. I may mark it on the calendar. AND I’m turning my phone off. If the world is ending wak- wait, don’t wake me up. Let me sleep through it. Unless the Doctor and/or Torchwood arrives to fix things. In which case HANDS OFF THEIR MINE!
