Why do we never learn from the lessons of the past?

I knew I was going out today.

I know that, given the length of my hair, it takes hours to dry naturally.

I know it is a bad idea to shower before going out in Autumn as I'll freeze to death.

I know the hairdryer is a bad evil thing that should never be touched on pain of split ends.

Yet?

I shower.

I freeze in the wind and come back in...

And use the dreaded hair dryer.

The static finally died in the last 5 minutes. My hair has ceased it's enthusiastic impression of tumbleweed in a hurricane. It has also ceased applying the laws of diffusion, whereby it tries to occupy every available space in the room, mainly by spreading out upwards, and in all directions.

It is now possible for people to come within 5 feet of me without being entangled by the coiffure from the black lagoon.

I am not amused.

Heh. I'm amused too. Though I shouldn't be, since I know what you mean.
Hairdryers are evil. *nods* And long hair is a pain. (Not letting scissors near mine, though.)

Never will it be cut. If I need to hire 8 little gnomes to help me carry the hair at all times, I will never cut it!

And hairdryers were designed by people with short hair.
