sparkindarknessI'm trying to wind down from the various drama llamas happening at the moment and catch up on some rest without the outrage meters screaming
And then I see this. The Catholic Church blames its sex abuse scandal on homosexuals, not paedophiles.
And suddenly I go from tired to enraged at 3 times to speed of light. The Catholic Church is blaming its child abuse scandal on homosexuals... Really, why am I suprised? The catholic church shows its values and its morality again - and I thank all that is holy that the Catholic Church seems to be on the decline in Europe. While there are so many good and tolerant and accepting and wonderful Catholics - it's eternally clear that the structure, hierarchy and organisation of the church is a toxic, destructive and, at times, down right evil enemy of me and mine.
Oh and asd an added fail - yes Archibishop Tomasi, only 1.5% of Catholic priests were abusers. That was never the point. No-one (or no-one sane) was trying to say that every or most Catholic priests were abusers. The scandal was that the powers that be in the CAtholic Church tried to COVER IT UP! The 1.5%'s existence was horrendous - but, yes, they exist everywhere. The utter disgust came from you SHELTERING them.
