I have always resisted technology "helping" me by making things more complicated than it needs to be. I have a note book, with actual paper. My phone CALLS people rather than having 2 million apps and receiving updates from the mothership of planet zog. I like useful technology - hey, I love my sat nav and my computer -but I am against using gizmos that make things harder than they need to be.

Beloved disagrees. Beloved likes the shinies. Beloved tries to convert me. This is an ongoing war. Which I may have just won.

Beloved has a parking sensor on his car.

This is a ridiculously expensive and silly gizmo a handy little tool that beeps as your car reverses too close to something. The closer you get to something, the faster the beeps.

Beloved claims to need this (and tries to get me to use one) and I have to partially agree since he couldn't park a mini in Wembly Stadium without reversing into something.

Like he did today. A bollard. Why? Because his parking sensor's batteries have died.

*does not say anything* *does so in an extremely smug manner*
