On a lighter note because I need a lighter note, Beloved has been poking me about my rather horrific taste in mancandy. Not people I'd necessarily want to let anywhere near my bed, but certainly guys I'd like to bask in the sexiness of.

I think beloved has a rather poor grasp of teh sexeh sometimes. It's not all about looks - or not all about the total looks. I can tend to focus on one feature and go "WHOA sexeh" while he blinks and orders me to a looney bin (eyes, I have a total weakness for eyes).

But he could not see how, say, Sir Ian McKellan or Christopher Lee could be sexy. (Seriously, I could listen to Christopher Lee talk allllllll day).

Then there's the most Senior of Senior partners. Now he is in his 70s, very very overweight and jowly. Not sexy? Hmmm, but think of this. The man is an OLD SCHOOL lawyer (he's a solicitor with higher rights, which we're glad of because him not speaking in a court room? Would be a crying waste), we're talking wigs, latin and rolling perferct English. His chief hobby? Amateur dramatics - Shakespearan. And not modern interpretations, we're talking perfectly enunciated monologues in a voice that can reach that back of the theatre like a tolling bell. When he is angry the walls shake and when he is happy or exultant people want to cheer.

This? Is sexy. Mind bogglingly, head splittingly sexy. I don't care what he looks like, that voice and presence can be nothing but sexy.

And then there's some that even I can't explain - like James Cosmo when he played an aging rock star in Midsomer Murders. Watching it my mind dinged sexy. My reasoned throughts (and Beloved) yell "Are you CRAZY?"

I sometimes wonder if Beloved is offended or finds his self esteem lowered by my strange strange tastes

I could see if you were interested in someone you could save, or in someone who was definitely past his prime but still dominant.

Ewan McGregor is cute. Cute, I can take or leave. But when he sings, oh my god...

I've only heard him sing in that horrible film he made with Cameron Diaz, and it wasn't good.

Some of the Japanese voice actors have voices like gold dipped in chocolate - so disappointing to see they're actually pretty ugly - but I so want to fuck their words :)

Moulin Rouge was also a bad movie, but my god the man has a voice I want to wrap myself in and writhe like a cat.

I'm a sucker for a beautiful voice. But I still wouldn't sleep with your senior partner - though he sounds a real character!

Poor Beloved. Just tell him you love him best and let him spank you. That'll appease him :)

Meatloaf is possibly not the most elegant of men, but his voice makes me go weak at the knees.

And I'd love to hear your senior partner - he sounds dreamy!

It's all about the voice. I admire men with rippling muscles; I appreciate good eyes, but a good voice makes me swoon (among other things).

Christopher Lee is delicious. I don't care what age he is. The voice, yes, and the eyes! I watch LotR and just close my eyes during the dialogue between him and Sir Ian McKellen.

Well, I have a well known propensity for chest hair, to the point that even a glimpse of it on a relatively ugly guy will get me hot and bothered.

But I can also completely melt at the sound of a particular voice. I guy where I used to work had an an amazing voice - not necessarily powerful, but smooth and rich and deep. I used to hang on his every word, not for what he was saying, but just to listen to his voice. It was pretty embarrassing actually, because his wife worked in the same office.

The other thing that's really sexy is the guy who, when you're talking, makes you feel like you're the most important person in the room - even when he's actually the most important person in the room.

I totally get the amazing voice = instant lust thing.
Jim Byrnes. The man is well old enough to be my father, possibly my grandfather and I'll freely admit to all and anyone, his voice? Yep instant lust and I'd happily follow it into the depths of hell (or re-live 2008 :P), leave my hubby, or jump off a cliff if he asked. I have all but one of his cds, and anytime I need a pick me up out comes that ever so lovely knee melting, spine tingling voice. Course doesn't hurt that I have always had a thing for older men anyway....Sighhhhhhhh....Ok off to the cds now....LOL!

This is what I refer to as "mind sexy" rather than "body sexy" which means that you are mentally turned on by something other than the physical appearance, or overall package of the physical presentation of the individual. All perfectly reasonable. Beloved should realize that the mind is the most erogenous zone/organ in the human body...

Do I sound intelligent when I'm drunk or silly? You tell me.

Now I'm tempted to play certain clips of monologues and bits of music just to study what it does to you.

do you also find this is certain types of music and singers? If so, are there odd bits of music that are a secret indulgence? like say Musicals or opera?

And does your Beloved have a sexy rumble? He might not have anything to worry bout since it seems to be the tones that please you, not the appearance and his tones can be counted as hot and sexy.

All I can say to that is I completely understand. My other half often is left bewildered by my odd tastes.

But one thing; voices. All I can say to that is Patrick Stewart.
