Well done America :) Sanity is restored (well, partially redeemed anyway) I'll put the mass order of straight jackets away! Gods it's going to be nice not constantly wondering what massive blundering America is currently plotting.

Historic in so many ways, beyond a good result guys. I think everyone has good reason to be gleeful beyond compare.

But but but, while I won't bring anyone down and people should be happy and celebrating - remember, Obama's been handed a dog's dinner to fix up and even with the landslide there are a lot of Republicans around (and a lot of Democrats that are not much better) that aren't going to give him a free ride. AND he's a politician. Remember that - no matter how much better than Mccain he is (and he so is) he's still a politician. Don't let your expectations set you up for disappointment.

Enough of that, time for more partying!

Funny... I was thinking about you when I pulled that lever. I was thinking about your Beloved.

I was thinking about McCain's age, and his policies. And what kind of vice-president "gee by gosh" Palin would be, what kind of president she would be if McCain couldn't make the full term.

I thought about Obama's winsome smile. I thought about his wife. I thought about foreign policy.

I was thinking about the environment, and what kinds of policies Obama and Biden would implement.

And I smiled as I pushed Obama's lever, and went, "Good luck, Sir," on it. I think Obama will be more willing to work with the rest of the world, instead of trying to piss everyone off. Hopefully, with Obama as our next president, the rest of the world will see we were all sick and tired of the "business as usual" approach the old guys were taking with our country.

GOBAMA!

I hadn't even been following politics, and I still let out a huge sigh of relief when I realized that Caribou Barbie wasn't getting anywhere near the Oval Office. I'm positive if you bopped her on the head, you'd hear an echo.

Even Germany is celebrating.

There are more than just the Americans hoping for a better future through Obama's leadership.

If he lets us down...well, disillusionment ahoy!

He's just a man, and I'm going to disagree with him on plenty of policy issues. He's a good man, though, and rational and honest and a consensus builder, so I'm sure things will improve. It's good-bye to torture, good-bye to domestic spying, good-bye to the suspension of habeas corpus, good-bye to extraordinary renditions, good-bye to pretending that we don't need to build consensus before taking major international actions, good-bye to the looting of Iraq, good-bye to protecting industry and Wall Street at the expense of workers, good-bye to pretending that we don't need to address our oil dependency, good-bye to gay baiting, good-bye to Republican judicial appointments...

and good-bye to W. and Darth Cheney. Don't the let door hit you in the ass on the way out.

I voted for Obama, and my gut feeling is that you're gonna be disappointed by at least one thing on that list. I don't know which one (or more), it's just a hunch, but there will be disappointment.

Probably. But not all of them, (and not any of the torture issues) and that's an improvement.

Oh lord! You and me both. I always felt sorry for my brother over there having to constantly apologize for Bush for the past eight years. Now maybe he can be proud of the country of his birth again. ;)

Well, excluding some of the props that were passed. But baby steps. Batshit crazy is never typically cured wholesale.
