People make me despair
Apr. 8th, 2008 01:45 pmHad a visit from my new-ish goddaughter today (WHY my cousin insists on making me a godparent I do not know, but now both of her daughters have me inflicted on them). Molly Mae. (I am currently calling the child Peggy Sue, Bobby Joe, Billy Bob and anything else I can think of to convince her to stop this insanity and change the name, but alas it does not seem to be working. Didn't work with her eldest daughter either, who I still call Morag. In my defence I wish to point out she knew exactly how evil I was before inflicting me on the children)
Anyway, brought along by her grandmother, MM is a little (or not so little) bundle of noise and flailing. I look forward to the day she is old enough for me to feed her enumbers. Yes, yes I do :) Grandmother fussed so much with the baby that i made sure I gave poor Morag a plushie Vampire (she likes vampires. My work here is almost done), but was far from my main concern...
See, the grandmother of these 2 girls has... problems. Mainly she doesn't EAT. She is, frankly, anorexic. She's convinced she's fat (she seriously isn't) and will often skip eating a day or two. Even when she is eating it's minescule amounts. The on;y reason she's not skin and bones is the alcohol she consumes *sigh* Still, she is a good and caring person and a more-than competent grandmother.
Except... she thinks MM is too big. Fat in fact. Yes, she IS big for her age, but that's a good thing. A SEVEN WEEK OLD BABY CANNOT BE OVERWEIGHT! I am passing the word to my cousin to keep an eye out, in no way shape or form shoulod a babe in arms be put on a diet.
