There is one wonderful example of eye candy that I've never quite got - Johnny Depp

See, I've always thought he's kind of cute, but smoking hot? Never really got there. No matter what film i saw him in - and certainly never in Pirates of the Cerribean. Cute, yes. Great actor, certainly. Smokin' hot? Not really.

Then I watch "From Hell"

Ok, yes, definitely hot. Definitely smoking smokin smokin hot. Yow electrified libido hot.

Isn't it amazing what hair and clothes can do for a man?

Seen Sweeney Todd yet?

It was there that the depp-man finally started to smoke for me. He's hot, just... not really hawt... until then :)

But now I will look up From Hell ... because skinny Depp is a touch too skinny for me, but if he's looking healthy, I could swoon!

I saw it and though I found the film a visual poetry I don't think I really got the hawtness from it.

He looked thin and compact and a looovely promise in those victorian suits

He was such an adorable cad in Pirates that I found him irresistible.

Yeeeah Pirates Johnny is a leetle bit strange, cause on the one hand he's so very pretty but on the other hand....... REALLY unshowered and extremely bad teeth, so....

Weeell I kind of approved of the unshowered and bad teeth. nothing gets my goat quite so much as these historical dramas where everyone is just fabulously coiffed and groomed. I mean, seriously, does that ship have a Body Shop on board?

That was an awesome movie. His accent kept catching me off guard though. Love the subtleties of the actor. He's an impressive performer.

His accent wasn't toooo bad. It was passably english which is more than most American actors can manage, but it was incongruously uneducated for the time and the class he belonged to.

that's what kept throwing me. It didn't fit right. But was interesting that he went with that choice. Makes one wonder what his background for the character was.

I wonder. I mean for other actors I would assume that they've just grabbed an English accent somewhat off the shelf (mixing and matching them quite appalling as is the wont on television) but not what I would consider in this film given the actors present.

The Libertine. :) He's supposed to be un-hot and generally very unlikeable in that character - which makes him even hotter somehow ;)

I love "From Hell". I love the Jack the Ripper case, and when you throw in JD? Awesomesauce.

*squees over JD's autograph framed on wall* *squee*

Well the ripper case used to fascinate me but I can't help but feel that it's so been DONE. Just about any horror museum you go to in England and especially in london will have some reference to the ripper. there are countless documentaries and crime dramas and books (usually all claiming to know the TRUTH) it's just been done to death sooo many times that it generally puts me off.

But his? And the hotness? this was goooood
