*poke* what what what is this thing now defiling the top of my journal? *pokes*

What is this LJ-explore? Whyfor is it linking me to random journals of random people I don't give a damn about? When did I sign up for this crap? It's bad enough I'm dreading the virulent pink banner of sacchirine doom to desecrate the page any time now, without this.

Oh dear... has my lapsed attention to my friends list caused me to miss a news post? Oh dear oh dear, has LJ inflicted another massive screw up on us that I am going to hate? brought out a new "interesting" feature?

*checks news* Oh, yes yes it has it seems.

*le sigh* in case you missed it like I did people the link is here http://news.livejournal.com/105711.html

Apparently there's a way to opt out (which, btw, means if you DID miss it you've all opted in. Enjoy!)

Frankly it's not high on my concern list and frankly if random people are reading my journal more power to them. if they were desperate sekrit sekrit they'd be friends locked or, y'know, not posted on the INTERNET for the potential perusal of millions of people (and you know you all want to peruse me :P) but I do think it's a waste of time and effort. Read you're friends list et al and looking for something to do? Well, a) get a HOBBY damn it! And b) can't we alreayd search by interests anyway? I mean if I desperately desperately wanted to find someone's journal to read on LJ and had read all my friends list (hah! keeping up with my friends list is something i am failing on atm). I mean, it's not liek LJ hasn't got something BETTER to do like address the many many many many concerns about its flagging system, deletions et al.

But let's take this time for a fun wager: how long until LJ explore manages to link all of these bored people to some none friends-locked, lurid Harry Potter/Hippogryph porn? ESPECIALLY since their selection systems seems rather broken and just about any subject can appear in any category. And then there will be a screaming of righteousness and deletions followed by a howling of "well no-one ASKED you to invite the world into my back garden, damn it" and then the drama will raise high and there will be cat macros and care police and a gnashing of grammar.

I meant to post about apathy but can't be bothered and it really has to come after I get round to my post about procrastinating

*laughing* i'm such a 3-yr old child when i have a cold. a sleepy, cranky, 3 yr old that doesn't wanna go to bed but should have been hours ago.

...i do like the "gnashing of grammar" tho.

and you know they're going to make our ljs lavender and pink again, any day now. or maybe pink and red this time! just wait. *solemn*

I don't like having to friend LJ News just to find out about what wretched thing I'm opting out of now, but it's the only reliable way for me to find out anything about what crack they're smoking now.

Most people don't follow news since it's usually sponsored product spam - so stuff like this goes under the radar

Huh, weird, I don't see anything new on my journal pages. Of course, I'm still using Dystopia, because I hate all the new layouts, so that might have something to do with it. LJ does seem to do something new and annoying each month.

The really annoying thing is that the poorly designed damn LJ Explore makes the page too wide for my screen at work!!!! And I have a shiny 19" LCD flat panel that I run at 1024x768. I should NOT have to change that just so their idiotic "feature" fits on the page.

*pokes* new stuff on my LJ.

fuck the stupid explore thingy. as long as it doesn't follow me down the page, I can happily ignore it. If more people are coasting through my LJ I don't much care. Maybe I'll get more readers. If they least stupid comments, I can delete the stupid comments. they havn't fucked up anything yet that I can;t handle with the ole delet button. should they take this away well then they shall have Armageddon.

*joins you in poking*

I can ignore and it isn';t too much of a problem to me, it's justy another stupid feature that can cause potential problems that no-one needs and no-one asked for.

meh, I flock my posts by default. I have to manually change the setting to make them public.

hmm, I'm trying to remember where... oh yeah, c_s is where I first encountered sparky. man, talk about a dying community! or rather, one that is being overrun by trolls faster than the mods can fling them somewhere else.

hey sparky?? y'know, I don't think the Hounds have been fed for a very long time now. Maybe they'd like to, oh, I don't know, see how LJ's (or whoever is in charge these days) taste?? you could tempt them with the goat...

Junk food would only be bad for the Hounds if it's a regular diet... oh, wait... this is LJ we're talking about. They're bound to come up with new idiotic things on a regular basis.
