I'm looking through my copious notes...

(Rick: He means the great mass of computer disks and ripped paper masquerading as modern art in one corner of the room...

Darren: One corner? I think it has expanding beyond that...)

*AHEM* and I've noticed I've got hundreds of characters notes...

(Rick: By that he means smut)

*growl* loads of character notes, but very little on world setting/rules of reality/powers/etc etc. And it's starting to put me on shaky ground, I mean the character's can't be involved in exclusive character interaction all the time...

(Rick: Translation - having hot monkey sex, and why can't we?)

SO I need to develope this. Easiest way is to throw it all open to the multitudes...

(Darren: Multitutdes? Unless the voices in his head count, there is hardly a multitude out there...)

And say "Ask any question about any setting in any way, being made to think of the answer will let me build a world."

(Ahrimadan: Or destroy it, if the voices are allowed to add their say.)

Does the population at large know about the mages and magic workers? How does the media cover the after effects of magic? How do they stay concieled if they do? What are the laws about magic use if they don't? Impossed by the government of the country where they live? Or by some internation federation of magic users? Does talent always run in families, or is it a random genetic wibble, or something you can study and learn or what? Does Ahrimadan get taken to the vet for vacinations and flea drops? Are their areas of the world where magic use is persicuted / permited? Is there a lingua franca in the spirit relm? Is it set slightly to the future of now, or slightly to the future of an alternate history of the world? If it is, what's different? If there's essentialy a magical underworld, how does it interface with the criminal one? [the fact that they can both pretty much summon money makes me wonder if the iRS isn't watching them] How do they get their news?
