On the mildly worrying side
Jan. 6th, 2007 12:54 amI remember bitching about how cold it was earlier to beloved, then I read baranduyn's post and reflected.
I was bitching about it being cold, yes, and I was cold. But I was sat on my patio at 11:00pm, in a short sleeved shirt, with no heater, in January.
This is Yorkshire. I shouldn't even be thinking about going outside at this time of year without 3 layers of clothing and a St Bernard loaded with strong spirits, let alone at night.
Freaky, Freaky weather

Date: 2007-01-06 02:06 am (UTC)Dude, you should not be able to go about in just short sleeves in Yorkshire this time of year. I remember reading the Herriott books (the vet books) which was set up thereabouts and...there was snow and cold this time of year.
Something is very, very wrong. That's all I'm saying. Oh yeah, and "The Last Waltz" is on VH-1 Classic and I'm watching even though I have it on DVD. :)

Date: 2007-01-06 07:16 pm (UTC)I had to put the a/c on yesterday because it wasn't just in the 70's, we had damn near one hundred percent humidity. I have a double-coated dog who is deep in "Mummie? HELP ME!" world right now.
I've lived in Florida so I know temperatures this time of year vary wildly depending on where you live but...in Raleigh? We haven't had a decent snowfall in three years. The local farmers are muttering that in their daddies day the hogs would be slaughtered after the first decent cold snap in November/December, but for the past few years it would not have been possible without refrigeration.
This is all so wrong. **sulking**

Date: 2007-01-06 04:36 pm (UTC)just adding to the wrong--it was 57f/14c as a LOW in the middle of the night last night, and it's 68f/20c now, at 11:30am on its way up to 72f/22c, as the estimated high. in new jersey. in january. seriously, as much as a whine about being cold, there's that back-of-brain acceptance that yes, it's nj. it's supposed to be cold. you grumble, and you suck it up. this is utterly SURREAL.
