Random me update

Not been a around for a while because I'm working on that "work/life" balance thing.
Thanks to some, ummm courteous advice from my coven, I've figured out that I completely over-ordered my attempt to create work life balance. As my wonderful coven mate said "if you're FORCING yourself to do something "fun" then it isn't fun anymore - it's just more work." Which was true. I was reading books I didn't especially want to read, playing games I wasn't actually interested in playing and having DVD marathons of films I didn't want to watch. Go me.
So I've been spending a lot of time with quality beloved & me time. And a lot of not-so-relaxing but still fun beloved & me time.
I'm writing lots of little snippets but they're a bit disjointed so I will gather them back together and suddenly post a ream.
Oh and we had a Regency day. I like Regency days :) And lots of Munchhausen because of it.
So all is good. ahhhhh got to love that

Date: 2006-11-30 04:37 pm (UTC)Y'know, considering what part of the world you're in and all, I've only got one thing to say to that: "Daft lad."

Date: 2006-11-30 07:09 pm (UTC)Yeah, when you realize you're doing things because 'people' think you should instead of YOU thinking you should...well, that's a mighty, mighty day.

Date: 2006-12-01 11:11 pm (UTC)Work is... odd. I am a lot happier about it partly because we've outsourced some of the work and got in some locums - we're nearly in the clear.
But mainly because of a change in attitude on my part - all this? It's REALLY not my problem. If the firm folds it's not my fault and there's nothing I could do to fix it and if future employers bitch at me because of it I probably don't want to work with them. It was bad. It still is rather bad - but it's not MY bad and it's NOT my duty to perform miracles or kill myself to fix it so I'm just going to chill and let the powers that be take what action they deem necessary.
I panic about politics, stress over a range of causes and do all I can for my clients - but THIS is not my fight and something I am not responsible for - a nice, peaceful thought
