Or trying to. Samhain ate my weekend (in a good way) and most of last night (also in a good way) and I've spent faaaar too long reading my own archives, but I'm catching up and organised soon.

Hopefully.

Oh, and the SPs have decided to do one of their sensitivity awareness months and updating and implementing their sensitivity policy (whenever they do this, those of minority race, ethnicity, religion or sexuality in the office generally try to hide) and are trying to be overly accomodating of my holy day. I'm torn between shuffling away from the vast awkwardness (watching them try and invent politically correct terms to use for pagan lawyers is not as fun as you'd think), milking it for all the shinies I can (why, yes, it's traditional that i should get a week off and shiny presents. Honest) and seeing how much humour I can wring from the situation (I prefer to be called broomstick enabled).

Ah well, I suppose I should be grateful that my firm IS so accomodating of minroity faiths, sexualities, races, ethnicities and cultures.

*eyebrow-raise*

surely the really-correct (as opposed to politically correct) term is 'lawyer'

it's not like your religion has an impact on your competence for work purposes...

SHHHH, don't tell them that. At the minute I'm working on Broomstick-enabled-deity-enhanced-nature-enabled Lawyer. Office Dyke (I can call me that since she calls me Queenie and we're on the same team) has bet me lunch I can't make it to 5 hyphenates.

But yes, that's what I keep saying to them "my faith makes absolutely NO difference to the job. You don't need to say/do anything special on my account." But they don't seem to be getting it.

Would pranking yourself make them uncomfortable enough to amuse you?

Meh. People are dumb. But then we already knew that...

My boss's favourite running joke for things that have no impact on the job is: 'was that on your CV?' (Him: "you're limping" Me: "yeah, I broke my ankle five years ago. it's playing up" Him: "was that on your CV?" or today's - Him: "you're not having another bonfire next week?" Me: "nah, well guy fawkes is kind of an english thing" Him: "it's kind of a protestant thing" Me: "Yeah, well, that too, and I'm catholic" Him: "was that on your CV?")
