Oooh shiny musings

I've been browsing through my old fic in an attempt to awaken a muse or two and am pleasantly surprised... some old fic which at the time I hated rather a lot and thought wasn't worth printing out and using as toilet paper I now look at and actually LIKE (and I normally don't like much of what I write - but for me to suddenly like what i used to loathe? Weird. Anyoen else ever looked back on old fic that at the time of writing left a sour taste in the mouth but now they like muchly without any editing?
This is odd, for I am not drunk. Hmmm *pokes brain* is this sobriety?
Of course some of it (most especially my first Liam/Rhiannon/Kat backstory) still makes me cringe in utter agony
And did Rick really swear that much? Darren must be a good influence

Date: 2006-10-31 11:35 pm (UTC)I usually hate my stories by the time I post them, and learn to love them later once I've got over the weariness of looking at the actual words. But what's always weird is that the stories I loathe still, are my most popular ones - and the stories of mine that I get a quiet glow of satisfaction and love every time I reread, barely cause a ripple. My taste and my readers' seem to be diametrically opposite.
