..because I hit a looooooooooooooow point. And the family is getting antsy (family? Your timing SUCKS. Sort out your angst WITHOUT the Sparky. The Sparky has better things to worry about)

I came in ebcause of guilt (curse thee overractive conscience) and have decided to relax and take it slow (and doss about on the net) because I just spent the last 30minutes STARING blankly at a computer screen without reading anything. Completely zoned out and lost time. One minute it was 11:00, the next it was 11:30. All in a blink.

That's not a good sign, methinks.

Oh and this morning I had an undignified temper tantrum with the tin opener. Why we have to have a ridiculously complicated electric tin opener that sharpens knives, seals plastic bags and cleans the windows I do not know. But my brain can't make it work any more. In a way I am glad I'm so tired because I had a completely insane/uber-tried impulse to scream at it, throw it out the window or just collapse on the floor and cry in utter despairing frustration (yes, over a tin that I couldn't open. If I were female I would blame hormones, but I can't so I'm going with utterly extreme tiredness). Thankfully I ws sjust too tiredf to do any of those dignity stripping things and just leaned on the unit and glared balefully at it. For several minutes apparently.

This is also not a good sign

Hmmm... I think i need time off. I don't even know how many days - weeks? - I've been working this time table, no weekends, no breaks, long hours AND getting up in the middle of the bloody night to go to the police station. But I have decided it has to stop or we're all screwed

ETA: ok, I lied. I haven't decided to stop, but one of the partners (not the senior partners who have enough on their plate) has decided it has to stop before us zombies screw things up even worse. She's currently stalking from office to office, sending people home, bullying secretaries to cancel appointments and chasing people out to have a lunch break

ETA2: it occurs to me that part of my problem is that I don't eat when tired. Eating tends to make me feel sick when I'm sleepy-manky. I think I had 2 cereal bars yesterday, nothing yet today and I can't even remember what i ate the day before (or the days before that) - certainly not a sit down meal

ETA3: And the hubby has stolen my pro-plus pills. (Yeah, I hate pills, but you can GRIND them into powder for your coffee).

ETA4 {moment of excessive gayness}: my hair looks like crap. Dry and dead and horrible. Need hot oil treatment *sigh*

If you're not eating properly, then please consider your hair condition being a big warning sign of what the sketchy diet and sleep and stress is doing to your body (unless you've also been changing your hair colour daily or something, at which point it's all the chemistry ;)

If you have a program on your 'puter that will pop up alerts, set up alerts for each meal, and don't "cancel" them when they come up, "snooze" them, so it keeps nagging you until you eat. If you don't have said program, get a cheap watch that you can program a few alarms on so it'll beep at you when it's time to eat.

The up side of being forced to eat? It also forces you to take a break from work for 15-30 minutes. Do yourself a favor, and instead of eating in the building over your work, go walk out to a near by eatery of some kind and eat there. Not only will you get a change of scenery and an excuse to take a full lunch break (sorry, restaurent was slow today), but you'll also get a little exercise break to help you unwind.

(checks date) Oops. Of course this is weeks after your post. I hope by the time you get this message, things have improved greatly and not necessary.
