That hurt. That really hurt quite badly.
In some ways I feel almost silly for being as upset as I am. I rarely go to London, I have few ties there. But it is our capital, this ancient, incredible city is the true heart of our nation. It is our bastion, our symbol, our figurehead, our pride - it is a large part of us, even for those who do nto live there or have never been there. London is us, and it is hurt.
I am awaiting news of 2 colleagues who went down to London yesterday. They probably won't be back until tomorrow now, though the phone networks are down so we can't really get in touch.
*sigh* I really did think the days when we needed to fear bombs in cities in this wonderful country were over.
And you know what makes it worse? We won the Olympics - we were all on such a high, what a terrible height to come down from.
Interlock, how are you doing? I imagine your commute is Hell and all is chaos.
