It's Kami's fault. Completely.

Rick now has his own journal. here.
Darren (reluctantly) has one too. here.

Now the others are demanding their own... Tell them no!

Gaaah, it was only an accordian! Um... and a firepole.

I'm still not quite getting the character-journal concept... are people supposed to interact with em? Or are other characters supposed to? Or nobody? And if other characters, what does one assume they do or don't know or where the journals are at in the storyline or if they're independent is... gack it all is confusing.

That look is ill-fitting

hi, ilatheril.

*sits heavily on Unseelie* no, no and again NO! Bad Kami! Don't make me send Lucien some bag pipes and a unicycle.

Ilatheril: ow! I still want one - you're letting HUMANS talk in front of us!

wow. i'm surprised darren let himself be talked into one.

Easy. I pointed out Rick had one. And Rick would be talking about whatever he wanted. Without a rebuttal.

How come? you do it all the time on [livejournal.com profile] home_of_usher in the comments.

I think if a journal is indipendant it should be so noted. I think the little IC comment squabbles that go on in jarrod's journal are Independant. think of it like the quasi-IC convos and debates that go on over MSN.

a good example of what would be Completely IC journal I think would be Marion's journal and kisho's.

That's only been a -character- journal for like three days, and I just yak in it the same way we do when we have msn convos. Everybody seems to have a different level of actual IC-ness going on in those journals, some are participatory, some aren't.

They grant insight into characters that fic doesn't necessarily bring (especially since I seem not to bother my characters unless there in a major drama) it gives opinions and views without the story (and the author) unduly interfereing.

And they want one. And Kami's encouraged them.

As for other people - interract freely if you want. Don't if you don't. I don't bar people on any journal, and the muses can't without my co-op.

As to storyline. A little before current... events and the 'consecration' of the shops. It will become abundantly clear when they reach an advanced stage.

*considers* ~sparky's free to set his own parameters for his brain-people--or, as i do, he can leave it up to them. mine enjoy interacting with RL folks, provided that they aren't the annoying anime fangirl variety. they also have character-friends outside of our universe. outside of that, their personalities, issues, likes and dislikes tend to make them gravitate toward certain people or not, just like anyone else. there are people that my chars simply Can Not Stand. some they will tolerate for "political purposes". for the most part, tho, i warn people: this is my character's space. they will not kiss your ass just because you're a fan, or even if the author likes you. if you piss them off, expect them to respond in kind, just like anyone else in the really-real world. it's kinda a sensitive place, because i'm allowing outsiders to deal directly with the voices that used to only speak only to me, and it's not uncommon for them to unknowingly upset/rile up a char, and then i have this raging ball of Upset in my head. not good. but at this point so far, the good has outweighed the bad.

davy generally will get along/put up with just about anyone, unless you mess with his family/territory etc. he has a fairly typical lizard!brain with all the usual triggers. he's very aware of his lizard!brain, altho he can do little about it, and for minor stuff, he's okay with it being poked fun of, because he laughs at it too. ~sparky's seen this. it helps derail/defuse the "GRRRARRGh!" in the back of his head. however there have been other incidents when another char kept pushing at him to "see the other side of the story", "you're wrong", yadda-yadda, and i was curling in my chair, because it was only making it worse. davy spent half the day absolutely LIVID, and avoided all other interaction with that particular character, as he was written off as a walking, talking asshole. and possibly, dinner. [we do actually have a universe-wide rule of not touching anyone else's characters.]

mark is...odd. too many factors at work to explain his parameters for interaction. there are very few people he genuinely likes. stone runs completely hot/cold, as far as being social goes. he has a select pack of friends (almost entirely muses), and it's rather difficult to get him to interact outside of them. he doesn't trust outside authors much, i think. he'll play, but then he retreats. lucian is nearly ALWAYS social to a degree, but he prefers authors to their muses--unless he really honestly feels they have a seperate identity worth dealing with [as opposed to be an empty puppet.] he has a tendancy to poke at people that he believes are taking themselves too seriously, and he unapologetically refuses to play any other social games outside of his own weird little machinations--which has turned off a number of his would-be friends.

basically when people are dealing with my character-ljs, they're dealing with the core personality of the character, and ALL of their experiences, both in-story and out of story. for example, mark is completely aware of everything that's happened in the 13 yrs of his existance. he's aware of all the rewrites of his backstory, and has very emphatically stated that this last one is IT; i'd better get it right, because he's NOT Doing This Again. he remembers Aerael, G*L (the comic) with a resigned grumble (he hated working on it. understandably.). He's had a non-canon relationship outside of the universe, between the time he lost Aerael and the time Lucian showed up, and that affects him also. In his lj, he's not in-story, but is still affected by the events that occured, including ones i haven't managed to get around to writing yet. i don't know if that makes any sense, but... =\

meh. i need a musebrain icon.

wow... lot there. The anology of an Actor in thier trailer and Not on set keeps comming back to me.

[livejournal.com profile] home_of_usher was ment just to be the archive of what I did with Jarrod the character in RP. eventually I dipped into talking about myself And letting Jarrod interact with commentors. Now he's laid full claim to that LJ being HIS space where he will choose to speak in a post (noted in teal font) or allow me to post something refering to Him. None of it nessesaruly has to do with anything RP related or in a given time line.

Personally i'm not confused, but I never thought to stop and wonder if others would be confused. Hmmm. Glad you and Sparky cleared this up.

MUAHAHA! *ROTFL* *tries to get up* *fails* *laughs some more* *staggers to feet* Like EITHER of us have a choice in the matter? Set parameters! Chance would be a fine thing.

RL people are fun. And Ilatheril likes fangirls. They taste nice.

their personalities, issues, likes and dislikes

A point I should remember - no guarentee on how the muses will receive anyone.

Most are going to always be polite though. Most. And thanfully, unlike poor kami, my raging balls of upset are going to set themselves on another muse, not me.

~sparky's seen this

Yup *molests faeryboy and steals his good one badge*

I'm actually interested in how they will react. I'm not entirely sure myself. I see myself seeing all knew squicks and hobbies.

i need a musebrain icon.

I need an icon. Actually, no, I don't. That would just make them squabble more.
