This is actually proved really useful to me, I've suddenly got a lot of inspiration for a lot of different plots (which could be a problem because I can see me bouncing from one story to another despite the fact I'm supposed to be advancing Spark and Darkness at the minute - I wrote an intro to new plot an age ago and I think it's harder to follow the stories with them jumping all over the place). It's also lket me get to know my boys a lot more (which may or may not be a good thing). It's certainly woken a few up. (That's probably a bad thing).

Anyway, here's a blast from the past - Ian, from Predator's Predator.

Name: Ian Myton
Currently Appearing In: Predator’s Predator "http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=sparkindarkness""http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=sparkindarkness""http://www.livejournal.com/users/sparkindarkness/"
Orientation: Whatever gets the job done. If male, male. If female, female.
Origin: London, England.
Significant Other(s): No time nor inclination.
Quirks: He’s a sociopath. Or at least, he tries to be. He’s lost too much - far too much, to risk caring again. Emotions are distractions, they hurt you, they reduce your efficiency. He cannot afford reduced efficiency. He cannot afford emotions. Weeping over the dead will serve no purpose. There is no surcease of grief in mourning - only in the cold fires of vengeance and the surety of another monster dead. Nothing else matters - just vengeance, the battle and death.
Background: Ian had a happy, carefree childhood. He went to school, his parents attended their boring, mundane, but contented lives at their mundane, but satisfying jobs. His brothers and sisters enjoyed their mundane hobbies and lived gentle, happy lives. They had a house, a car and sufficient income to live a comfortable, peaceful life.
It didn’t last. Ian still dreams of the ruin of his home. The bodies of his family. The still twitching forms of those still impossibly, cruelly alive. He still remembers with incredible clarity the first time he killed - to bring mercy to those tortured loved ones. No amount of blood can wash away that memory. No amount of death is sufficient vengeance. It doesn’t matter - he will seek the impossible until it kills him - and he knows it will. He just doesn’t care any more.
Employment: He hunts, he fights, he kills and he trains. Every waking moment is dedicated to this mission - partly for fear of the thoughts that may rise should he ever stop and allow them to take form. He makes what living he can from raiding the strongboxes of those he’s destroyed, and from the dedicated generosity of those few people who share his cause and see how much of an asset he is to them.
Appearance: Ian is gorgeous. There’s no other word for it. Graced with some of the most perfect human looks you can imagine, he is a deadly seductive snare. He’s also a consummate actor, dancer and master of seduction. He can use that toned athletic body to reel in any prey. Those burning green eyes, full lips and sharp cheekbones peeking through shimmering shoulder length blond hair have lured many a monster to their doom... but what a wonderful way to die.
Distinguishing Characteristics: He’s beautiful. I mean, really beautiful. Other than that - everything’s an act. Happiness, sadness, seduction, love - it’s all fake. All a plan, a ruse, a trap. Perhaps even his carefully detached emotionless ‘rest’ state is an act. Who knows what the real Ian thinks or feels?
If You Could Pick a Theme Song for This Character, It Would Be: Hmm... y’know what? I think I'm bad at this. “Kiss Kiss” Stella Soleil. “Life is a Lemon” Meat Loaf.
Sin-of-Anger: Change anger for hate. He lives on hate. It drives him, it’s probably the one reason he hasn’t thrown himself off a bridge. It’s one of the things that makes him such a good fighter - he has such power in his anger behind every move and such disregard for his own life that lets him stand against the monsters and not be killed in seconds.
Sin-of-Envy: Sometimes... maybe... just... he wishes he could have had the life he once had. Maybe. But he doesn‘t think about it. It’s a distraction. Pointless. Useless. Forget I ever mentioned it.
Sin-of-Pride: The monsters took everything off him, he couldn’t stop it. It takes everything he has and a large serving of luck just to survive each time. Still, he does survive... and kill more of the monsters. He’s good and he knows it. But he knows where his limits lie.
Sin of Gluttony He likes apples. What? Don’t look at me like that, he just really likes apples. His mum used to make toffee apples and... well, he just likes apples. Don’t ask me why. Anything apple flavoured - cider, apple juice, apple cereal bars... sue me, he’s weird.
Sin-of-Lust: A tool. Nothing else.
Sin-of-Avarice: Does it help the mission? No? Then it doesn’t matter.
Sin-of-Sloth: HAH! His sin is he doesn’t get anything like enough rest!
Virtues: He has honed vengeance to a fine art. He dances with death and the hate inside him endlessly. He is utterly selfless - his life just doesn’t matter to him anymore - but then nor does anyone else’s. There is just the hunt, the kill, then the next hunt... endlessly until he dies.
He tries to hide it - but he is very empathic... I think that hate alone would have killed him by now, there’s only so much hate you can absorb. He hasn’t resorted to extreme tactics (yet) to kill the monsters regardless of bystanders. Besides, he makes a point of hunting the worst monsters - surely if it was just hate he would hunt the easiest killed? Right? Maybe? Yeah, I think there’s some empathy buried inside there.

*blink* Just so you know, I'm keeping all of my boys far, far away from you and your boys. I don't want them contaminated by the angst, and I don't want them killed by one of yours.
*sigh* Poor Ian. There's no way to fix him, is there? (I like the apples detail, by the way. It's cute.)

It's really useful. If I had time I'd still be doing the Outlines questions as well.

Ah so much to post so little time! I will start writing again. I will...

*blink* stop stalking her muses. Right now. Kokopelli, I'm watching you! And you Ian, no I don't care WHAT it is, leave it alone! Radoslav! They are NOT convenient tools for your ascension, stop it! Errr, please?

Look, I'm trying here, but no guarentees... *chases Ahrimadan away with a broom* scat!

I think Ian is very broken. Frankly, if he was fixed and lost his hate and purpose I see him jumping off a bridge. That's what Father Michaels' thinks anyway, and he's rarely wrong.

Heee, I was surprised by the apples thing as well, guess he is human after all.
