Oh, and today is Sunday. Yes it is. Definitely. Because of... um... time zones. And stuff. Yeah. That'll do. See, I'm not late. It's just Sunday.

Name: Ilatheril. He has no titles... yet.
Currently Appearing In: Light & Dark. "http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=sparkindarkness""http://www.livejournal.com/userinfo.bml?user=sparkindarkness""http://www.livejournal.com/users/sparkindarkness/"
Orientation: Faery. UNSEELIE faerie. Does it have a pulse? No? Well we’ll put it in the ‘maybe’ column then.
Origin: He spent most of his early youth hiding among mortals as the Unseelie licked their wounds. Later he spent his life in the poorly restored ruins of his father’s house, now labouring under vassalage to Seelie masters.
Significant Other(s): Though technically wed to Sitharensor, again the vows do not bind him to monogamy, or require his love. In fact, few Unseelie weddings do bind to monogamy (though personal, private promises of monogamy are not as uncommon), believing that such vows are pointless restrictions, likely unnatural, and another human and Seelie foible of meaningless empty ideals being placed over what really matters.
Quirks: Poor education. After the great war and the Unseelie rout, the Dark Court was left with few resources, less personnel and certainly no time to make use of either. Despite the best efforts of those around him, Ilatheril has not received even close to the education a sidhe of his age and rank should have benefited from. This means his magic is wild and untrained, still uncontrollable like a child’s. His emotions can render even the easiest spell unworkable or morph it into something completely unpredictable. If it weren't for the sublime sidhe instincts when it comes to magic, he’d be utterly incapable when it comes to using his power. The second weakness from this is his political savvy. Though hardly the masters of innuendo and the sharpened word as the Seelie are, the Unseelie are still expected to be able to go toe on toe with their cousins in the Light Court if called to. And even as Unseelie, they are sidhe. Why use one word when you can use a full blown flowery speech with heralds, a ceremony and mentioning at least 6 ancestors and 20 titles? Ok, that is a Seelie thing. Basically the only reason why Ilatheril hasn’t been eaten alive in the political arena is his natural paranoia.
The plus side of this lack of education is that he thinks and acts like a human in some ways. He is much more physically inclined and skilled (and much more skilled at using his magic to enhance his physical capabilities) than most sidhe. He’s also better able to think quickly and practically; generally better able to act outside the sidhe mind set.
Background: Like Sitharensor, Ilatheril was born in the aftermath of the great war. He, however, was on the loosing side. He spent most of his early life (and a large amount of his later life) hiding behind his glamour and lurking among humans. Firstly to avoid the remaining conflicts of the war and overzealous Seelie who were determined to ‘finish it’ (though this was a pogrom mainly against lesser fae, especially those creatures exclusive to the Unseelie court that the Seelie took exception to), and secondly as an escape from reality. Can hardly blame him, it wasn’t a pleasant reality and no sidhe likes to snivel and grovel, least of all an Unseelie. Pretty much resigned to a pointless life of near self-imposed exile, unable to bring himself to live as a slave, he was eager to jump at the chance for a return to prominence - even if it meant binding himself to one of his oppressors.
Employment: He’s a noble. Maybe a somewhat reduced noble, but still a noble. Oh and the Unseelie thing about rules? Well, let’s just say he’s a little cavalier about personal property.
Appearance: Sidhe. Largely see Sitharensor. On the basic level - the same high cheekbones and slanted eyes, and pointy ears. Has indigo eyes and night black hair. His skin is pale, but less smooth and more bleached.
Distinguishing Characteristics: No, pretty much normal for a sidhe (i.e. spectacular and wonderful). Only Ilatheril is used to disguising himself with glamour and may occasionally resort to cloaking himself in a human disguise without thinking.
If You Could Pick a Theme Song for This Character, It Would Be: Still bad at this BTW. “The animal song” Savage Garden. “Strange Relationships” Darren Hayes. “Not gonna get us” TaTu - preferably in the original Russian mixed with Prodigy.
Sin-of-Anger: Sin?
Ilatheril: *growls* you can quit these right now! Bloody Seelie idea! Sin is what the people in charge scream when they want to control people! Sin is what ‘civilisation’ uses to force people to suppress what they are. Sin eats people from the inside as everything that is natural becomes a rod of guilt to beat themselves with! “Forgive me for I have sinned! Forgive me for I have sinned! Forgive me for I have acted naturally for once! Forgive me for I have free will! Forgive me for I’m actually living MY life for ME!” Don’t prate at me about sin!
Ooooookaaay... that’ll be a check for anger then, yes?
Sin-of-Envy: The power that is rightly his. The power and knowledge that is the Unseelie birthright. The power and knowledge and respect he has never known.
Sin-of-Pride: Sidhe. Enough said.
Sin of Gluttony He wants it, he eats it. Served in a variety of ways and preferably off someone’s naked body.
Sin-of-Lust: Um. See above. He has no compunctions about sex. He wants something/someone, he makes it known.
Sin-of-Avarice: He doesn‘t have chance. He sees something. He takes. Spending time longing for it never comes into the equation.
Sin-of-Sloth: Not really. Sidhe don‘t ‘sleep‘ per se, but have deep meditative trances while they sort out their heads. This could be taken as sloth by people watching.
Virtues: Freedom! *chant ad infinitum et nauseum* No laws but your own! No restrictions you don’t consent to! Accept no rulers but yourself! Accept no leaders who have not earned the right to lead!

Sunday, right. Heh, don't I wish.
*grin* I like Ilatheril.
It would be interesting to see what sort of things he did while hiding out among the humans. (hint, hint)
