When bemusement overtakes anger

Now there are a lot of foolish people in the world - and twice that many foolish haters.
And generally I loathe them and their collective efforts give me grey hairs and likely an ulcer before I'm 30.
But occasionally the haters just go so far off the deep end that I almost have to laugh. They're so utterly ridiculous that either a) they must be on some kind of psychotropic drug or b) they're lying and they know it.
Poking such people is to be encourages - firstly because they've painted such as target on themselves that these fools are beyond pity - but also because there's absolutely NOTHING more damaging for the haters than allies like these - because the level of ridiculous is just beyond imagining or support.
The latest example of this? Joe Fuiten. Who has linked the murder of several Washington police officers to... gay marriage
Yeah, that's not so much a leap of logic as a shrieking, super-sonic plummet of logic. Also we apparently live in such a wicked era that it's a sure sign of the end-times
Actually - an aside. What's with this "oh it's so wicked!" mentality? Wicked era? Seriously? In a world that has known systematic genocide, brutal oppression of a vast number of marginalised groups, openly institutional torture, world-wide despotism, inquisitions, wars and general vileness of every discription - But TODAY is the wicked era?!
It makes me despair not just for their hate, but for their sense of proportion. It was like when the Pope compared GBLT people to a major threat on par with rainforest destruction. I can get that they don't like us. I can see their unreasoning, vile hatred. But to be so far gone that secularism, GBLT people, seperation of church and state et al are seen to be MORE IMMORAL than all of the horrors of history? To say it outweighs slavery and the holocaust and the inquisition and world wars and the iunnumerable instances of beyond horrendous shit that humanity has perpetrated over the centuries? That is frightening. It's delusional and it's sickening
Buit then, this man also thinks secularists would have more freedom under Bible law... so he's probably been smoking the good stuff before he opened his mouth
