I just can't. I start making the effort with "Well, the religion says so," and then I fall over "But the religion also says don't eat shrimp and oh, also, give away everything you have and follow me" and I stumble back to "Buh-huh?"
Don't bother trying; I've accepted that this is one blind spot that I'm happy to have.
