This man is not an expert

I have spoken before about the mainstream media treating homophobic bigots as experts when discussing GBLT issues. Why do I even have to explain this? I mean, seriously? You don’t ask raging misogynists about women’s issues, you don’t ask flaming racists about people of colour and you don’t ask bloody homophobes about our issues. Hatred is not a qualification!

So why, in the name of all that is sensible in this world, is Tony Perkins an expert to testify in the Kagan Supreme Court hearings? Tony Perkins is  man who called gay pride month “sexual deviance” month that we are out to destroy democracy and gods alone know how many more and worst things.

Why is this man given even the slightest shred of credibility?
