One of the important messages I think anyone can learn is never to underestimate themselves. I try not to. I try to imagine all the wonderful, powerful, amazing things I can. I try not to limit myself, I try not to assume anything is impossible for me.

However, despite this, I find it impossible to believe I can cause earthquakes. Really, Rabbi Yehuda Levin, much as I appreciate your faith in my abilities - I think that earthquakes (and hurricanes, tsunami etc) are rather beyond our causation.

And, really, if you think a deity would unleash such a disaster on people - if you think that the response of a deity to the “sodomisation of the military” (by the way, we’ve had gays in the military in the UK for a while now. No Earthquakes) would be to slaughter thousands then why do you worship him? DO you really think such a bad tempered - such a, and let’s not mince words here, such an evil creature is worthy of your respect and homage?

More people expressing their religious rights, Vanderbilt university Muslim chaplain supports execution of gays but it’s ok. Because it’s common to many religious you see! Yeah, this is why organised religion makes me nervous.

The Christian Religious right doesn’t want to be left out - and have decided to sue to overturn the federal Hate Crimes Prevention Act of 2009 because all that trying to stop persecuting gays is so offensive to them.

But then, we have to remember that these movements are not just irrational in their hatred about us - after all, the Christian Right in Gerogia is kicking up a stink because prostitutes under the age of 16 will be treated as *gasp* victims and not criminals. Do these people have no compassion at all?

The Christian Family Research Council, in addition to hating he idea of gays in the military but disagrees with Lawrence v Texas - pro-sodomy laws! Yes they want to throw gays in prison...

And then we have some of the damage they do Harriet Harmon is not going to continue to fight for full equality of gay people The religious bigotry has won - their hate has been firmly entrenched into law. Thank you organised religion - your love is stunning.

We need to stop endorsing religious hate. We need to make it clear hiding behind religion does not excuse bigotry. Hatred is not justified by a holy book. Deity does not excuse prejudice. Your hatred is no more palatable because it has a holy symbol stamped on it. This is an important message to send - and a good reason to avoid endorsing or giving any credence to such organisations
