The government apologises to Alan Turing
Sep. 11th, 2009 01:35 amIt is rare I agree with what the Prime Minister (any prime minister, for that matter) says and rarer still that I am in wholehearted agreement.
Further to the petition I talked about here (http://sparkindarkness.livejournal.com/246740.html) Gordon Brown has released a statement

An acknowledgement of how great Alan Turing was and an apology for the awful way he was treated. Thank you for this, Mr. Brown. Thank you for treating it as important and doing the right thing.
Now if more kids could learn about him at school so he is remembered I will be ecstatic. Even without that, this is a very good thing
