Sparky’s take on the whole veil/cross debate – or to put it another way – Sparky’s take on religion on the work place.
My first point is actually one of discomfort. Yes, there was Straw’s opinion. Then there was the woman with a veil suspended as a teaching assistant. Naturally, her local MP is expected to speak up on the issue… then everyone seemed to come out of the woodwork on it ready to add their own censure – MPs not from the area, not connected to it and not in any related government body. It’s beginning to feel like national “hey, let’s bitch about Muslims” day.
That said, being an opinionated soul, and certainly since I’m not up for election of any MPs seat, here’s my take on it:
