Update on me
Jan. 2nd, 2005 09:56 pmComp's still down. I'm actually resorting to *gasp* pen and paper. I don't know why, I just CAN'T create on this abacus. It kills muses. I need my true medium! (at this point you are perfectly justified in hunting me down for being waaaaaay to arty).
On the plus side I have got through an entire parker pen ink cartridge in 3 days, so I'm guessing I've written a fair amount. Stuff I know I have? The world below, home_of_usher's mercorn fic, a Light & Dark PWP, half a Spark in Darkness prequel thing and half a Spark in Darkness current thing (OOOOH, yes, I was surprised too) which really relies more on the prequel (which, BTW is still crap. I HATE HATE HATE the prequelverse. It is evil and bad and produces nothing but evil badness. I like the characters, but they won't play. Their dialogue is stilted, their actions contrived, their timing painful and the whole thing flows like an avalanche of corkscrews and cheese graters.) The Halloween EPIC of bloody DOOM that STILL isn't finished and is too damn long and makes Sisyphis' (sp?) little rock rolling and all of Hercules' labours seem like an afternoon of light house work. And finally a Light & Dark plan. (Planning? Me? Near unprecedented)
I have a world. Countries, cultures, races, history, magic system, current events, everything. I have a world... but no characters and no plot. Just a world. Interesting. Can a world be a muse?
The muses are threatening me with crossovers if I don't update soon. This is a bad thing.
I'm debating dropping out of the White Wolf Vampire game I'm in. First time in about a year that I've been a player (and only then because I demanded a break from running all the games) and it's irritating me. It'd be fine, but the so-called 'story teller' is STEALING MY BLOODY PLOTS! It's not like he's even subtle about it - hello, we all DID this several months ago when I ran the game. I don't care if you've changed the 'depths of the Amazon' for 'darkest Africa' it's the same bloody plot. You can tell by the bloody were-JAGUARS! ye gods, you could have at least turned them into were-leopards! And you can't just change 'Brazil' for 'Egypt'. How, pray tell, are we managing to spend WEEKS trekking around the bloody EGYPTIAN RAIN FOREST?! *bangs head*
And the worst thing? Outright theft of my characters! LITERALLY! He doesn't even change their names! And of course, if I say 'drop my NPCs you imagination deprived excuse for a games master' he looks blank - because without them he doesn't even HAVE a plot!!! And it's PAINFUL! My poor NPCs, they didn't deserve this. Not even the Lasombra puppet master who made their lives hell from afar - he's been saddled with an axe and is trying to hack people into pieces now. *sob* he still tries to speak the same way and pretend yto act the same way, but my puppet master's an axe murderer! And my poor Incan mage. Alas, still dizzy from suddenly founding the first ever Incan temple in Africa has apparently traded in his spiritual ties to the gods and deep religious conviction for powers of zappiness.
Gods, it's pathetic, but I hate to see even my most minor muses treated this way. I don't mind at all if someone borrows them, but I hope they'd be a decent care taker of them.
