I HAD planned on spending this evening snuggled up on the sofa romantically watching dvds with beloved.

Good plan.

I had the sofa. I had the beloved (suitably skimpily dressed). I had drinks and snacks. I had DVD.

Beloved's new Hot Fuzz DVD.

The romance went out the window within 10 minutes. I couldn't MOVE for laughing. I laughed so hard I thought I was actually going to pass out because I couldn't breathe. I fell off the sofa and collapsed on the floor I was so paralysed by laughter. My chest actually HURTS. I want to watch it again just to catch the bits I missed because I couldn't open my eyes.

That DVD is just classic. I shall now devote a small shrine to it and set up my own cult.

I'm guessing you hadn't seen it before... heh. because if you had seen it, you wouldn't have tried to conduct snugglefest during it.

loved that movie - got to see it on the big screen. try watching shaun of the dead and hot fuzz back to back. both are now hallowed cult classics.

Hey, I know romantic would have been nice - but quality laughing time with beloved is good too,and I envy you the opportunity!

We saw it in the cinema - I missed quite a bit of it because I was laughing so hard I was crying and I couldn't see the screen through the tears!

no Hot Fuzz is defaintly not the movie for a romantic night in. but then again, they do say laughter is the greatest aphrodysiac.

I guess when I'm home I'll need to watch it then

Condsidering how what you find funny seems to line up rather nicely with what I find funny...there is a high probability that this will be hysterical.

Well, thanks for the suggestion.

And...congrats on avoiding more flooding, assuming what I've been watching in the news is correct.
I'm in Birmingham now, slowly working my way up, and it looks like I'll be able to make it without risking flooding. The forcasts for little rain, and a "proper English summer" seem promising...

Oops.

God, I've been dying to see that! If it's out on video already, I've got to get my IT man to download it for me.

It caaaaan be.... but not when you nearly break a rib and can't talk through the sore throat and then you get that odd laughing muscle weakness as well...

It's a hmmm... comedy. Policemen in the rural countryside taking out the bad guys... I can't say more without totally ruining it

Not this hard... err, laughter that is. Especially when you can't even sit upright
From: [identity profile] sparkindarkness.livejournal.com
You must watch it. yes yes you must. All people should watch it.

Thanks, yes we're largely dry. You should have missed most of the flooding in Birmingham. Enjoying your stay so far? Brummie land is a huge city but I don't think it's a common tourist destination

As do I. Of course. How silly to think otherwise. I meant that I don't have to pay for them, because my husband does.
From: [identity profile] uberleechen.livejournal.com
No, it's not realy a common tourist destination. Cadbury World is though, and the land of Brummies is a convenient sleeping-point for an excursion there. We're actually just in an Internet Cafe figuring out where to go today. We've been in London, Bath, Coventry and Birmingham so far. We're thinking it'll either be something like Cardiff or Gloucester, then go northeast a bit.

Shopping here is sorta nice. A hell of a lot of stores. Very, very commercial.

Mmm...Alchemy Gothic Chalice with blue glass...only £65...even after exchange, that's still only 1/2 the price we'd pay at home...
From: [identity profile] uberleechen.livejournal.com
Hah! Never mind going home, last night's hotel had it on pay-per-view. Or rather, pay-per-24-hour-period-you-can-watch-this-movie. £4 and worth every overly-thick coin.

It was suitably awesome. I didn't realize that it had whatshisname (Truly, Godawful I am with names) from Shaun of the Dead.
