First of all this required finding the little wire that plugs my phone into the computer (we don’t have a digital camera because we never use one and every time I try to buy one Beloved asks “and when will we use it?” I give in because THEN when I want to hit the Versace shop with a vengeance or a credit card I get to say “gods, first the digital camera and then THIS?! We’d be living in boxes under a bridge if you had your way!” See? Tactics.)

So digging through my orderly filing system (also known as the BIG BOX OF WIRES!)

Me: Is this it?
Beloved: That’s for your last phone
Me: Damn. This?
Beloved: That’s a spare wire for my phone - why‘ve you got one?
Me: This?
Beloved: MP3 player wire. And that’s the OTHER MP3 player wire. And that’s charger. That’s a phone jack
Me: I know! Damn, I can’t find it..
Beloved: Of c-
Me: Do not say it! Do not say a word! What’s this thing?
Beloved: The last router wire, the one we decided was broken and useless.
Me: Then why’s it here? DO NOT ANSWER THAT!
Beloved: *zips lips*
Me: Ye gods, how many USB leads to we have? We can’t need all of them!
Beloved: *playing with cat with broken router lead* No, but -
Me: DO NOT SAY IT!
Me: I give up. I can’t find it!
Beloved: If you’d actually keep things organised, you’d be able to fine them.
Me: ARRRRGH! *launches at throat*

This is why I never ever let him help me find anything *thwaps him repeatedly*

Of course I found the wire - where it had been stored NEATLY on my computer table. If it HAD been kept in my big box o’ wires I would have found it in 10 minutes rather than 1n hour. I and my storage system are so totally vindicated

Anyway, pictures. The curtains and bed spread came out a lot paler and more washed out than they really are, they’re more of a burnished, yellow gold. I think the camera doesn’t like metallics. The Wallpaper is also much darker than it shows on here

Okay, I'm going to be giggling for quite a while over the sequinned embroidered butterfly. *hee*

Love it! *envies the wallpaper*

Ok, the butterfly wasn't favourite :) I Love the split bed spread and I liked the idea of the patterns on the paler part and this wa sjust the best match i found.

And sometimes you just have to go with the sequins. You just have to.

The wallpaper is muuuch darker than it looks and it's the reason I went for this scheme. I was thumbing through a sample book, saw it and went "OMG MUST HAVE!" Of course it turned out to be pretty bloody expensive but it is sooo worth it.

Metallics are brutal to shoot. I know...my mother's an artist, who paints primarily with acryllics on canvas. Metallic acrylics, the ones that cause heavy-metal poisoning. Basically, the only way to do it well is totally diffused ambient light. Glare is stunningly hard to avoid. In the end, I'm not sure you really can (well, professionals can, but I'm talking about mortals here) photograph metallics representationally.

Oh, and I'm in London now. You know how London wasn't badly hit? Well, perhaps not so badly as you were, but it flooded yesterday. Most torrential rainfall I've ever seen. I walked around in it in a thin white shirt...so nice to finally be cool, although I got more than a few strange looks. My tube station closed. Several older people were exclaiming that they'd been in London 20+ years and never seen anything like it.

I am betrayed. Then again, maybe I'm just a god. (re: American Gods) Your stories of flooding, my little London squall. Nice thought, that.

If I haven't said it before, I say it now. Beloved has the patience of a saint :)

The less said about your French Tart's Boudoir, the better. Because I like reading your LJ and would hate you to kill me!

Photos suck muchly because camera and experience sucks more. There's a whole lot of sucking going on.

But the wallpaper rocks

I didn't expect them to come out well, I'm content that they're kind of OK

London is getting the tail end of what we got - the weather in britain this past month or so has been unnatural freaky.

Your conversation transcripts are a little slice of heaven. You never fail to make me laugh, and really want to be present, lounging on your couch as it happens.

Funny how communication changes after years of togetherness. It's a good thing.

You're quite close, actually, but it needs to be a two-or-more syllable rendition. Trust me. I hear it all day.
