[livejournal.com profile] truckers_child posted on feminist about a one-question survey being done by the American Family Association.

They're expecting an overwhelming majority of respondents to say that they would be less likely to do business with a company if they knew it supported the "homosexual agenda" (good grief! There's an agenda now? I missed that memo!) So far, they're the results they're getting. Of course, they're only publicising it in places where they're likely to be agreed with...

So various people are posting the link all over the internet, in an effort to change the results. Filling out the survey-it really is only the one question-takes all of about ten seconds. Go on go on go on. You know you want to.

It's here http://www.afa.net/petitions/businesses/businesses.asp . Oh, go on! [grin]

While there is absolutely no way we will ever change these deranged bigots - you have to admit it's fun to poke them now and then. And I'd looooove it if us followers of the "gay agenda" (immaculate grooming for everyone! Every woman shall have a pair of dungerees of her very own! Forces of the gay revolution we shall mince into battle armed with handbags and catty comments and militant lesbians with power tools!) could mess up their little poll.

Edit to Add Ok it gets more complex - apparently to confirm your vote you have to confirm the email they will send you to the address you entered.

Now here's the thing, having done this myself I've found that confirming this gets me to a page that says "hello member." Which I think is more than a little dishonest for a poll, especially when people have answered with OPPOSING views to the Amercan Fascist Association.

However, it is very easy to unsubscribe (and leave a stinking message about dishonest polls) so i would advise people to still vote, but then leave the organisation lambasting them about their sneaky, dishonest tricks, and what kind of family values are they?

NB: I wouldn't use a throw-away email address for this and then not bother to unsubscribe - this damn organiation likes to claim that it has 100 squillion little bigots out there so it's nice to cut down the numbers. But it's good to know that all the numbers they claim are extremely overinflated. Hey, more dishonesty from the "moral majority" who'd have thought?

Where? Where? I wanna vote!

I'll pass on the dungarees in favor of fatigue pants, but I could use the power tools!

Hmmm... *debates between the truthful choice (neutral) and the one they're fearing*

And pipe wrenches. I need a pipe wrench right now.

c'mon, who has to be truthful on THIS site?

Any poll that includes the words "gay agenda" does not deserve truth - it deserves pwning with great big razor sharp rainbows :)

It seems I can't vote. I must have choosen wrong.
each time i hit submit, I get either 'security key is incorect' or a 404 'can not display page' page.

I'll try again later.

I voted "yay gay agenda"! And I want power tools and dungarees, even if I'm not a militant lesbian, pretty please.

Straight women can get dungarees as well, right? I'm afraid that's the only way I can support this agenda you speak of. Though I am tempted, tempted by your talk of immaculate grooming.

Somehow I think that this poll is not on the level, or there's something wrong with it... since those are exactly the same numbers I got after voting.

On a brighter note?

Two different supermarket staff (the shelf-stacker and the checkout girl) clearly thought Vix and I were a couple, last night - not that they said anything direct, just that the assumptions they made were working off of that basis... I reckon it's good that people are open to the possibility, yeah?
