Now, i will confess to being extremely disorganised. I will confess to being messy. I know my mess is horrible and impenetrable and truly vile and I apologise to all who have to deal with my piles of paper.

BUT I do not expect other people to deal with my mess.

So, dear colleague, when you send me an email saying "XXXXX file is in the manila folder in my office" and I arrive in your office I do NOT expect to find huge mountains of manila folders precipitously touching the ceiling. Am I supposed to psychically know which of the dozens of folders this is?

Thankfully secretaries have arcane powers to find things.

They're not arcane powers, its actually just an ability to think yourself into someone else's shoes and work out what stupid place (perfectly logical in their head) they would have put any given file/object.

And yes, clean up your desk, before Mad Secretary decides it has gone beyond the pale and stands over you for two hours bitching while she makes you do it, like I did with my boss a few months back.

Mad secretary says you are not to tell me that. Apparently there is a risk i will try and use arcane secretary skills, mess it up and leave her with teh clean up.
