This is a declaration by the UN supporting worldwide DECRIMINALISATION of homosexuality

NOT supporting gay marriage

NOT forcing everyone to wear rainbows and have teh gay sex

This is a declaration to prevent gays being fined, imprisoned or executed for BEING GAY

OK? Because countries like, say, Iran have a nasty habit of executing us gay folk and most civilised people would rather they didn't ok?

In fact, to quote the statement:
"to take all the necessary measures, in particular legislative oradministrative, to ensure that sexual orientation or gender identitymay under no circumstances be the basis for criminal penalties, in particular executions, arrests or detention."

Wow, objectionable, isn't it?

Probably for the same reason Prop 8 passed in California and for the same reason there is now a motion to nullify all the marriages made before the Proposition passed; we have in our nation a large percentage of tall, mature-looking eight year olds who just feel all oogie when the gay is mentioned. IT MIGHT BE CATCHING.

I think any adult who feels threatened by gay people, no matter how much fancy-dancing justification they pull from the Bible, probably needs therapy to determine why what other people are doing in a consensual situation threatens them. Also, they need to be reminded that their beloved Leviticus also states adulterers ought to be stoned to death and what in that era was considered adultery. Would Sarah Palin (I loathe her) throw the first stone at her pregnant daughter?
