Hey, Cameron, remember me talking before and again and again And AGAIN about how if you wanted to reach out to the GBLT community you had to, y'know, stop being homophobic?

Remember how I said all the empty photo shoots and pretty speeches didn't mean a thing if you still voted lock step to deny us every right you possibly could every single opportunity you had?

Well, any time you want to start ACTUALLY reaching out to us, just let me know. But first you've got to stop kicking us.

Because you're homophobic party has just crippled the bloody hate crime law. Y'know at a time when anti-gblt violence is rising, at a time when the MET says it's up by 18%, at a time when murders of gay and trans people seem to be an all too frequent occurance - you decide it's appropriate to cripple this bill.

It needs a "freedom of speech" provision to protect people who are just "criticising" because of their faith.

Yeah? The bill has an EXTREMELY high threshold. It doesn't even begin to touch people who are 'criticising.' It goes after people who are THREATENING US or inciting HATE and VIOLENCE (y'know, the same protections that people ALREADY have for racist hate speech).

Or it did.

But. y'know, if they really sincerely believe we should all be brutally tortured to death by angry mobs - well, gosh darn it, they have a right to start inciting and encouraging those mobs
